FluidX tubes

Azenta tubes are available in different formats. The code management system ensures that each code is permanently affixed, unique and never duplicated. All Azenta polypropylene sample tubes are sealed with a screw cap and are suitable for applications ranging from +121°C to -196°C. Azenta tubes have been developed with broad compatibility in mind so they can be used without compromise with Azenta's and all other industry-recognised manufacturers' automatic code reading, capping and sample handling systems.
The tubes offer a variety of code options: 2D code, 1D (linear barcode), or humanreadable number (HRN). Three-code tubes offer all three options, while two-code tubes can feature a 2D code and a human-readable number on the base or side of the tube.

CryoBoxes

In addition to the industry-standard SBS boxes, a range of cryo boxes is available for tubes and specific applications. Each box is equipped with:

  • Open bottom for 2D code decoding on camera readers
  • 1D linear barcode and human-readable number engraved directly by laser on the side of the rack and 2D box orientation ID on the base of the rack

Cube Rack Reader

The Cube makes it possible to quickly identify tubes in racks coded for sample storage without having to remove the tubes from the racks. The Cube is supplied calibrated and ready to use. It can read both cryoboxes and SBS-format racks (using a simple adapter which is included as standard) regardless of the configuration or number of tubes. Thanks to the new automatic rack type detection function the Cube no longer needs to be configured for all the different rack types.

IntelliXcap S1

The IntelliXcap™ S1 simplifies tube handling thanks to its one-handed operation and wide compatibility, making it ideal for everyday tasks.

  • Its compact design allows it to fit perfectly in fume hoods and on workbenches
  • It handles a wide range of tube types, including centrifuge, cell culture and glass tubes, without the need to change the cap gripper
  • It allows tubes with both internal and external threads to be handled
  • Ergonomic one-handed operation reduces the risk of repetitive motion injuries

Screw Cap Decapper

This 8-channel, semi-automatic, manual screw cap decapper offers users a flexible solution for removing and replacing eight caps in a single movement.

  • It has easily interchangeable cartridges for switching between different types of tube
  • It is compatible with 96-well SBS rack-format screw-cap tubes
  • It caps a single column in less than 4 seconds
  • All caps are tightened to the same torque to create a secure seal
  • Caps can be ejected from the cap holder using the second 'eject' button

IntelliXcap

The IntelliXcap™ is the next generation of capping and decapping technology. Designed to increase productivity and ease of use while ensuring high system reliability, it is ideal for laboratories handling compound libraries or biological sample repositories.

  • The IntelliXcap™ is extremely fast and compatible with different types of specimen storage tubes from various 24-, 48- and 96-tube manufacturers, including taller 96- format tubes.
  • It can uncaps a full rack of 96 tubes in as little as 20 seconds.
  • Automation and high speed reduce specimen handling time, thereby increasing sample production workflow.
  • It is ideal for medium to high throughput laboratories handling compound libraries, biobanks or other biological samples. A specific model with a verification camera is available for use with Azenta Life Sciences' acoustic sample tubes.

CryoPod

The CryoPod is a device that enables the safe transport of biological materials by maintaining a temperature below -150°C for over 3 hours. There are two models: one that can hold one cryobox (or two SBS racks), and one that can hold three to four 250 ml cassettes (or one cryobox or two SBS racks).

  • It has integrated temperature monitoring with two user-settable alarms.
  • Logs temperature, date/time, alarms and all events.
  • Samples are stored in an LN2 vapour environment.
  • It enables the safe, portable and traceable handling of cryogenic samples and the in-lab transport of temperature-sensitive materials.
